Writing Introduction
Every other chapter in English, the students will be given a general topic that relates to the 6th grade English Curriculum to write about. Each chapter will have a corresponding grading rubric, outline page, revising checklist, and proofreading checklist. IF additional research is required, students will be informed how to conduct the research and how to properly cite the information. The required length of each essay may vary.
In addition to writting about selected topics, students will also be required to hand draw and color a picture related to their topic. The picture should use at least half of the page and include a caption underneath. The final draft must have a one inch colored border.

Personal Narrative
The students will be writing a personal narrative in chapter 2. This narrative will be a true story about something the student has personally done. There needs to be four or five main points. Each main point should be a paragraph. The opening should be an attention getting one or two sentences. This opening will begin the first main point. A paragraph is classified as five to seven sentences. The concluding paragraph only needs to be three to four sentences. Below are the documents that have been glued in each student’s journal.
