1st Quarter AR Quiz- Due Wednesday, October 8th Please do not wait until the last minute to take the quizzes.
A classroom library is available for students to check out books. Most of these books are from Scholastics and are of subject matter of high interest for many middle school students. Books vary from upper elementary to upper grades. Please have students check with a parent for book approval.
During the duration of 6th grade, the students will be given the opportunity to participate in a reading contest. The students will be reading books of their choosing and taking an online quiz gauging their understanding of the book. All students must read books each quarter that are near the middle school reading level or two points +/- of their given STAR level. Students may not use books that they have previously read, with the exception of the summer reading. If there is not an AR quiz for the chosen book, the student will need to select a different book. Each quarter, students are required to earn 15-20 AR points. This should be spread out throughout the quarter to show continued reading. Students will be given a grade will be given at the end of each quarter based on their progress.
